The author died and the lonely and silent reader may have died as well, long live the user, the crowd, the coders and web designers – this is how one could summarize the core of the workshop planned by the =mcminstitute of the University of St.Gallen in regard of literature taking place within the digital age.
Therefore we gladly invite all media und literature enthusiasts to take part in discussions about how the ongoing digitalization changes dispositifs like authorship, storytelling, reading, interpreting, literary property, responsibility and the experience of literature and culture, about whether this is good or bad and whether it forces us to rethink our approach to literature and culture.
Workshop audience
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary the =mcminstitute is looking forward to meet those challenges and assemble fragments to form an aesthetic or philosophy of digitalization together with practitioners, scholars of culture, media and literature, philosophers and students.
Place and time of the workshop
The workshop organized by the University of St.Gallen and the Start-up New Babylon Creations takes place at the University of St.Gallen (Room 09-011) from the 8th to 10th of November 2018.

Everybody interested in the conference «Literature Error: Restart or Cancel?” is welcome to join the conference. However, we would like to expressly point out that the conference will be mainly held in german. Participation is free of charge. Registration is not open yet, further information will follow soon.
